Using the Personal Study Manager

Start learning...

1. After Installing the Study Manager (click here to see screenshots of the installation process) a Gryphon Learning icon is placed onto your desktop.

2. Double-click the Gryphon Learning icon to open the Study Manger Log in screen. Enter your username and password supplied to you by Gryphon in the space provided and circled in green (1); then click "Click here to log in to study" (2).

3. 3. In Step 1 select your course type; In this example it is Wealth Creation. The blue closed book icon will change to a yellow open book symbol. With Wealth Creation selected go to Step 2 and select the course you wish to study; in this example Chart Pattern Recognition has been selected as indicated by the yellow open book icon.

Highlighted in green is the "Click here to choose topics and lessons" button; this button becomes active after you have selected items in Steps 1 and 2. After clicking the "Click here to choose topics and lessons" button you will be presented with a screen enableling you to select Topics and Lessons associated with that topic.

4. This screen like the previous screen presents a 2-Step process. Firstly, Step 3 presents the available Topics associated with the course you selected in Step 2 (see above). In this example Complex Chart Patterns has been selected. Once a topic has been selected the associated lessons will appear in Step 4. This example shows Diamond Patterns as selected. A description appears to the right of each item selected.

Below the description and highlighted in RED (1) a message will indicate whether or not the Study Manager knows where the lesson material is located. In this example the material has been saved to the hard drive and that is what the message indicates: Run from hard disk. You can, from this screen (Steps 3 and 4) save
the lesson files from the CD to your computer's hard disk by clicking "Organise" which is highlighted in blue- more detail below.

After selecting a lesson the "Click here to start studying a local lesson" button becomes active. Clicking this will open the selected lesson.

5. Once a lesson has opened you are ready to start studying. You have 2 methods available to navigate the lesson. Firstly there is a simple menu allowing you to quickly go to the First, Previous and Last pages. The simple menu also allows you to go Back and Next page by page.

The menu on the right readily shows most pages within the lesson and you may click on any page you like. The side menu may scroll depending on the number of pages. Whatever page has been selected the title will also appear in the white space at the top; this example shows "Objectives", the first page. As expected since this is the first page the First and Previous buttons are grey out as you are on the first page and thre is no previous page. Click EXIT in red to close the lesson. Closing the lesson will take you back to Steps 3 and 4 allowing you to select a new topic and/or lesson.

6. Below is a typical example of a Video page. The video appears in the bottom right below the side menu. The video has play, pause and stop controls. The video will not automatically start and requires the user to select the Play button highlighted in green.

As the speaker presents the content will change.

7. After clicking Organise the Organised window will appear. The files on the current CD will appear in the left pane. Select items and select the Add arrow highlighted in green. This action moves the files to the right side pane. Once you have moved the files to the right side you can easily review the files that will be saved to your hard disk and if desired you may select an item and remove it by selecting the Remove button highlighted in red. After you are satisfied with the items in the right pane select "Updated" highlited in purple; this action will save the material to your hard disk.
