technology in the workplace
The Gryphon Learning
assessments for the ASIC units also address some of the performance criteria for this unit. Students who have
successfully studied on-line with Gryphon Learning will have satisfied more of
the performance criteria. Anyone who has have successfully studied on-line with
Gryphon Learning can gain Advanced standing for this unit.
This course contains
approximately 25 hours (3 days) of courseware and assessment. A nominal time of 24 hours means that the
average adult with at least Year 12 (VCE) and little prior knowledge could be
expected to take 24 hours to complete this unit of competency by itself. Since
most of those who will enrol in this unit have considerable prior knowledge,
they will complete the material more quickly.
Anyone who has have successfully
studied on-line with Gryphon Learning can gain Advanced standing for this unit.

as a whole. It allows for different work environments and situations that may
affect performance. Bold italicised wording, if used in the performance
criteria, is detailed below. Essential operating conditions that may be present
with training and assessment (depending on the work situation, needs of the
candidate, accessibility of the item, and local industry and regional contexts)
may also be included.

Learning Implementation
|
|
|
To achieve
competency in this unit, a person must be able to demonstrate:
the
ability to use technology and particularly computers to achieve the workplace
outcomes required by their organisation
|
These competencies are
demonstrated in successfully completing on-line learning with Gryphon
learning
|
|
|
Competence in
this unit must be assessed over a period of time in order to ensure
consistency of performance over the Range Statement and contexts applicable
to the work environment.
|
On-line learning
with Gryphon Learning takes place over a period of time, thus these skills
are demonstrated over a period of time
|
|
|
This
unit may be assessed on its own or it may be assessed with other units that
cover related skills and knowledge.
Evidence
is most relevant when provided through an integrated activity which combines
the elements of competency for the unit, or a cluster of units of competency.
|
Many of these
competencies are demonstrated as students do on-line learning with Gryphon
Learning. The Technology Test will
assess the others
|
|
|
For valid and reliable
assessment of this unit, evidence should be gathered through a range of
methods to indicate consistent performance.
Assessment of this unit of
competence will usually include observation of processes and procedures, oral
and/or written questioning on underpinning knowledge and skills and other
methods as required.
|
Many of these performance criteria
are demonstrated as students do on-line learning with Gryphon
Learning.
Others are assessed via the formative assessment items in the on-line
topic A00s101t34 Use Technology in the Workplace
The Technology Test will assess the others
|
|
|
This unit may be assessed
in the workplace or in a simulated work environment
|
Many of these
competencies are demonstrated as students do on-line learning with Gryphon
Learning.
Others are assessed via the formative assessment items in the on-line
topic A00s101t34 Use Technology in the Workplace
The Technology Test
will assess the others. The Technology test will include a simulated environment.
|
|
|
Assessment
of this unit of competence requires access to
a range of equipment including computers,
associated equipment such as scanners, printers and a range of programs for
document production and management, information handling, using the internet
and sending and receiving emails.
|
Studying on-line
with Gryphon Learning involves access to computers and accessories, the
internet, email and web browsers.
Other programs are
simulated in the Technology Test.
